M3 Concept Gets More Power

BMW is making sure that no one mistakes the new signature M3 for the standard 3 series coupe ever again. They are putting in a V8 engine, which they have never done before, and with that engine they need room for it. That is why they will be tweaking the body of the car.

The airflow needed so much that the front apertures have to be even more aggressive than usual. One of the bonnet vents also helps it breathe. Throw in the naked carbon-fibre roof and you have yourself a more distinct able car and one that everyone will be dying to get at.

It seems that BMW is straying farther away from the original concept that they started out with, but as long as they are doing it for the better there should be no complaints or problems. After all they are giving the M3 more power and size. Both are good selling points.

Larger dimensions mean more mass, and BMW has shaved weight to redress the balance. This includes the engine itself, which uses an aluminium-silicon alloy block for a 15kg reduction over the previous six-cylinder. The carbon-fibre roof loses 5kg, aluminium rear suspension 2.5kg, plastic bumper supports 6kg and plastic ski-hatch 7kg.

Along with all of the new perks it will also receive a raise in price going up by $17,000 to $157,000. The price is well worth it. The M3 can easily stand up to any top Mercedes vehicles on the market.
